If you pay by PayPal then on the final page PayPal would have shown you the converstion rate that would apply to your transaction PRIOR to you purchasing anything. You can also see this conversion by visiting the transaction in your paypal history.
If you paid using direct credit card through the Barclays ePDQ system then you would be charged in GBP. Your credit card provider may have applied an additional fee for conversion. Please contact your credit card company for details on their conversion rates and any fees they might have applied.
35.725USD is approx 20.82GPB (conversion done using www.xe.com/ucc using live midmarket rates) which is about right for the average price of one of my components.
